1servingfresh lettuce leaves and tomato slices (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the onions are soft. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and remaining salt. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
In a greased 9-inch pie plate, pour half of the batter as the base. Layer the cooked beef mixture evenly over the batter. Sprinkle the chopped pickles and both cheeses over the beef. Pour the remaining batter over the top, ensuring it covers the filling.
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the pie from the oven, and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Drizzle ketchup on top and garnish with fresh lettuce leaves and tomato slices before serving.
